The game featured five ties and 10 lead changes, with neither team holding a lead larger than 11 points. Dallas had that 11-point advantage, but Utah rallied with a 26-19 fourth quarter to secure the comeback victory. The Jazz shot 48.1% from the field and 40.9% from three-point range, while the Mavericks were held to 38.2% shooting from the field and 29.6% from beyond the arc. Utah also led in assists, 27-17.
For the Jazz (1-0), Cody Williams spearheaded the effort with 21 points, three rebounds, and four assists. Taylor Hendricks contributed eight points, eight rebounds, four assists, and three blocks. Isaiah Collier added 12 points, two rebounds, and seven assists, while Kenneth Lofton Jr. led the bench with 10 points and five rebounds.
The Mavericks (0-1) were paced by Brandon Williams, who tallied 21 points, four rebounds, five assists, and two steals. AJ Lawson scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Melvin Ajinca chipped in 13 points and five rebounds, while Olivier-Maxence Prosper recorded 11 points, six rebounds, and two steals.
Both teams will be back in action on Monday, with Dallas taking on the Memphis Grizzlies and Utah facing the Sacramento Kings.
