MLS players lead USA roster for 2024 Concacaf U-20 Championship

Fifteen players from Major League Soccer clubs have been named to the United States roster for the 2024 Concacaf U-20 Championship, scheduled from July 18 to August 4 in Mexico.

USA Schedule: Group A The US team aims to secure one of Concacaf’s four spots for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile, awarded to quarterfinal winners. The schedule for Group A matches is as follows:

  • July 19 vs. Jamaica – 10 pm ET | Estadio Miguel Alemán Valdés (Celaya, Mexico)
  • July 22 vs. Cuba – 10 pm ET | Estadio Miguel Alemán Valdés (Celaya, Mexico)
  • July 25 vs. Costa Rica – 10 pm ET | Estadio Miguel Alemán Valdés (Celaya, Mexico)

The US team, coached by Michael Nsien, seeks its fourth consecutive Concacaf title at this age level, having won in 2017, 2018, and 2022.

Roster Notes

  • Goalkeepers: Adam Beaudry (Colorado Rapids) and Duran Ferree (on loan at Orange County SC) are notable selections.
  • Defenders: Noah Cobb (Atlanta United) and Stuart Hawkins (Seattle Sounders FC) are expected to anchor the defense alongside Nolan Norris (FC Dallas).
  • Midfielders: Niko Tsakiris (San Jose Earthquakes) brings experience from the previous FIFA U-20 World Cup, with Taha Habroune (Columbus Crew) and Brooklyn Raines (Houston Dynamo FC) adding depth.
  • Forwards: Nimfasha Berchimas (Charlotte FC) is the youngest player at 16, while Ruben Ramos Jr. (LA Galaxy) and David Vazquez (Philadelphia Union) bring scoring prowess.
