Andy Reid, Trey Smith, Mecole Hardman among Chiefs to join cast of Hallmark movie

Two weeks after announcing their partnership with Hallmark for a holiday movie, the Kansas City Chiefs have revealed that several familiar faces from Arrowhead Stadium will join the cast of “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story.”

In a press release on Thursday, the Chiefs and Hallmark Channel disclosed that head coach Andy Reid, guard Trey Smith, wide receiver Mecole Hardman, running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire, defensive end George Karlaftis, and other players will appear in the film.

This marks Andy Reid’s debut in a feature film role, adding to his extensive achievements as a three-time Super Bowl champion and future Hall of Famer. Reid has previously ventured into entertainment, notably appearing in State Farm commercials alongside Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who also occasionally promotes insurance.

Joining the already star-studded cast, including Hunter King, Tyler Hynes, and Ed Begley Jr., are Christine Ebersole, Megyn Price, Richard Riehle, and Diedrich Bader, known for his striking resemblance to former Bengals long snapper Clark Harris.

Filming for “Holiday Touchdown” is currently in progress at various locations in and around Kansas City, Missouri, including GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

The movie is slated to premiere this year during Hallmark’s 15th anniversary of Countdown to Christmas, coinciding with the Chiefs’ pursuit of a 10th consecutive playoff appearance and a third consecutive Super Bowl title.

Following their time on set, Andy Reid and the Chiefs will return to football activities next week, with rookies reporting on July 16 and veterans on July 20.
