Ricky Council IV scored 24 points, grabbed six rebounds, and nabbed two steals, leading the 76ers to a victory over the Pistons in the NBA 2K25 Summer League.
Council’s all-around performance, along with significant contributions from his teammates, propelled the Philadelphia 76ers to a 94-81 win against the Detroit Pistons at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas on Saturday night.
The game started slowly, with the 76ers scraping to an 18-16 lead after the first quarter. Philadelphia extended their lead slightly by halftime. Although the Pistons closed the gap to one point entering the final period, the Sixers dominated the last 10 minutes with a 30-18 run, securing a double-digit victory. The Pistons were held to 39.7% shooting, including 22.2% from three-point range.
Ron Holland, the No. 5 overall pick, led the Pistons with 15 points, seven rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and one steal. Rookie second-round pick Bobi Klintman added 13 points, five rebounds, five assists, and one steal. Tolu Smith recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, along with one assist. Aaron Estrada matched Smith’s 12 points, and Jayce Johnson contributed 11 points, six rebounds, and one assist.
Council led the 76ers with 24 points, six rebounds, and two steals. Keve Aluma added 19 points, eight boards, one steal, and one block. Jeff Dowtin contributed 18 points, eight assists, and five rebounds. Rookie first-round pick Jared McCain posted 11 points, six rebounds, one assist, and two steals.
The Pistons will face the Houston Rockets on Monday evening, while the 76ers will play against the Portland Trail Blazers later that night.
